Pinterest....an addiction!

I have recently discovered Pinterest. With that discovery, I seem to be losing all of my time to it! I love all of the ideas and the recipes and the homemade cleaning solutions. They are absolutely amazing! I've found so many great recipes and craft ideas that are so simple, inexpensive, yet so beautiful! And the different household solutions are just incredible, laundry detergent, dishwasher detergent, stain removers, and so many more! If you haven't discovered Pinterest, I highly recommend it! Just be warned that it is so great that your time will slip away fast and your to-do lists will grow!! :)

The Game of Life!

I seem to have totally forgotten about blogging! It's a terribly sad thing!! I really enjoy blogging, I do! But since my last blog I have tackled the difficult feat of leaving a guy a care so deeply about to follow my dreams of going to a college that is changing my life! I left home and moved to Idaho to attend Brigham Young University-Idaho. It was one of the hardest things I've ever done, but it has changed my life so much and I couldn't be more grateful that I followed my dreams and went!! While away I learned a lot about being a totally independent adult! And might I say, I love it! hahaha! :) I met people who I hope will remain my friends for my entire life time! They have touched me and helped me in so many ways! I've changed the direction of my life, and I'm no longer going to be a nurse practitioner, I'm going to be a social worker. I've decided I'm going to change the world! Are you with me!

So I've accomplished several things in the last year(the time since my last post), so I thought I would share some of them with you! I've lived completely on my own for 7 months and I look forward to heading back to school and doing it all again!! I've completed my freshman year of college with a 3.87 GPA! I'm very proud of that one! I've entered the dating world, I'm not sure how I feel about that one! haha! The best thing I've accomplished is learning so much about who I really am! I was so out of my comfort zone, it forced me to look inward and learn about who I am, what makes me, me and all of the things you never notice when everything is good or you are surrounded by people who already know mostly everything about you!

I met my best friend in college! She is incredible!! She is so talented and boy am I grateful for her talent! See I have lots of creative ideas, I just can never make them turn out right!! But I can just explain them to her and she can make anything, draw anything, it's amazing!!

The last thing I think I'll mention in my post today is what I referenced at the very beginning! At the beginning of this post I mentioned leaving a guy I care deeply about to go school. He and I spent the last 4-5 months of last year working together, hanging out, and preparing me to leave for school! I have to say that I'm so grateful to him, if it wasn't for him I wouldn't love Idaho, I wouldn't have even given it a chance! About the middle of November he began asking me if I could go to a college closer, in state; I told him every time it came up that I had to do this or I'd "what if" myself forever! Then when it came time to leave I didn't want to, and he was so amazing, he told me this was something I knew I had to do and that the 7 months would fly by! We talked everyday after I moved and I'm so indebted to him for everything he has done for me! But see, I'm back home for a break and they tell, once you leave things will never be the same. It's so true! Justin(I changed his name) now has a girlfriend and every time we see each other its just like old times! While I'm home, I don't really have to many friends anymore because our circle of friends were the same, and it would be awkward to hang out with all of them with the situation like it is! Justin and I were never totally totally honest with each other on how we felt, and my best friend tells me I should just tell him. That's way scary!!

Life is good, I head back to school in two and half months! And my best friend and I are taking a road trip so it's gonna be fun!! :) I hope you all have a wonderful day! Don't forget to smile! :)

Bedroom Redo...

I really want to redo my room because currently it is painted red with a black feaux finish over it! And I really don't like feeling like I live in a dungeon! I was thinking of painting is a turquoise color or a pink color and then doing black and white different patterns similar to this room! But I'm not really sure of any other ideas! I really want to change but mostly just like a paint change! Any ideas! I also thought about trying to do a camo part on my wall with pink accents some how! I can't explain it but I have this mossy oak cap and it is half camo with this really pretty pink design that separates the camo from the black and the black part has the mossy oak label and such! I tried to find a picture of it but I couldn't! I really like things like that! I'm really big into things like country things and huntin! I just don't know what I want to do with my room! Hmmm...

Bow and Toes!

This past weekend I went over to my cousin's house and she showed me these really cool bows that she and her aunt make! They are totally awesome! If my camera had batteries I would take a picture and post them! But I asked her if she would teach me and she said yes! And since she is on fall break this week, I asked her if she wanted to make bows and watch Letters to Juliet and The Last Song. She said that sounded fun, so that was the plan! Well, while at work on Saturday me and one of my co-workers were talking about Letters to Juliet and The Last Song and various other chick flicks and he (yes, I said he and it wasn't a typo and he isn't gay : D ) said he wanted to see both of the movies we were planning on watching tonight! So I invited him to come watch them with us, but I totally thought he wouldn't! And last night my cousin was over at my house and I told her that if she wanted, while we were being crafty I could teach her how to make a tie blanket. Ya know, the ones made out of fleece!? Super easy to make! She said it sounded fun, so the plan was this morning to get up and head into town and cash a check for one of our sister missionaries, get the stuff for bows and blankets and then show my cousin the driving test route and then come home! Well, my manager's little girl is in the town's pageant today and I had a hair thing that I was going to bring to her and as soon as I woke up I ran it over to her and I didn't think it would take too long but needless to say I was late for my scheduled time for meeting the sisters!

So while we were in walmart looking for ribbon and stuff I was joking about us opening our own shoppe where we sell bows and then I thought "We could make those cute little flip flops with the stuff on them and then we could call our shoppe 'Bows and Toes'!" We found some awesome ribbon! I have tie dye, zebra, cheetah, camo, and pink. Tomorrow I'm going to get more when I get needles and thread! And our blankets are black on one side and on the other its looks kinda like a red bandanna collage type thing! We both loved it so we both got it!! And she has this ribbon that looks like a bandanna and she is going to put some blue jean material with it and make me a bow like that too!! It is going to be SOOOOOO cute! And making the ribbons is SUPER easy! I never would have dreamed it would be so cute! I might do a post and explain how to do it! And they look so cute! I really want to wear one to work tomorrow!

So tonight when we were working on bows, I get a call and it's my co-worker and he's like "I'm heading to your house. I might need directions!" And I was like okay! So I give them directions and they make it that far and then they (he brought another one of the guys we work with because he didn't want to be the only guy!) ask how to get the rest of the way! I tell them and they are tell me they can make it, so I believe them and go back to making my bow! My cousin told me "We're going to get another phone call, and they are going to be lost!" Sure enough, they called laughing their heads off and told me they ended up in a different county! Me and my cousin found them and lead them to my house! We had fun and watched Letters to Juliet and then they left and my cousin and I watch The Last Song!

Accomplishments of the day: Cleaned my room, made 3 super cute bows and I'm almost done with 3 more, and had a lot of fun all day long!!

A pinch of this....a dash of that...

So...I spent the weekend with two of my friends and we had a total blast! For some reason we all started talking about weddings and the types of weddings we each wanted! Which got me to thinking...and I've always thought that I wanted a contemporary wedding with fushia and zebra! But then I thought about all the things I love and one of my most favorite love stories is The Notebook. Which then led to many google searches of "notebook inspired weddings" and "1940's vintage inspired weddings" and, of course, a viewing of The Notebook. After looking through many pictures of weddings that fit the above description, I totally fell in love! It is so cute and totally romantic. I love vintage stuff anyways but this takes it to a whole new level! And I think that "vintage" is just something that is common amongst my friends and I because we all want some sort of vintage!

I'll give you just a few of the ideas that I found, I'm sure you will find them incredibly cute as well!!
  • Dance to the song that Allie and Noah danced to in the street!
  • Make the dance floor look like the street with a cute traffic light hanging above to resemble the scene in the movie!!
  • Have a Black and White photo booth!
  • Favors that are like notebooks with your story in it!!
  • And have carnival foods like cotton candy and such!
  • I also found these really cute invitations that are based on The Notebook!!

Also, the other night my step-mom started talking to me on facebook! And she told me that her and my dad would help me get my plane ticket to Idaho and get a laptop for school! That will be such a help. I've been working and trying to save as much money as I can, but plane tickets and computers are really EXPENSIVE! I also might be going out to Oklahoma to visit them. It will be the first time I will have seen them since the summer before my freshman year!! Just to put that in perspective, I just graduated high school! So it's a pretty big deal!

And one last thing! My job had been working us like crazy but now that school has started back and there isn't quite a demand for shoes our hours have been cut back to the scrawny 17 or so hours a week. I've been thinking about working at the hospital PRN as a CNA. (PRN mean as needed) But I'm really afraid to work as a CNA because I'm afraid that I will mess up or not be good enough! I know that I was the best person in my class, I even recieved the award out of the entire senior class for Pre-Nursing and I won 5th place at the national level for Nursing Assisting. Despite all of this, it is so easy to hurt someone and that is the last thing I want to do. The great thing about working PRN is that I would get paid time and a half (around 16.50/hr) and I would get to keep my job at Shoe Show with a steady income. I am just really bad with change and I just don't know what to do!!

What do you think??

BEST. NEWS. EVER

I just found out the best news in a really long time, so therefore I'm just going to over exaggerate and say ever!!! I just found out that a really great friend of mine will be going to Rexburg at the same time that I will!! We are going to the same school and we're on the same track!! That makes me UBER excited...now I normally don't use the word 'uber' but I just felt like saying it!! Any who, I was so happy I started crying!! He and I have been friends since I was like 7 or 8!!! And what makes this even better is that just before I found this out, I thought that he was going to the marines which made me EXTREMELY sad. But now I know that he isn't going to the marines and he's going to Idaho!! Dang....my difficult day just got WAY BETTER!!! : )

D.E.A.D.

Man, these last couple of weeks have been crazy!! At work we are selling shoes like its the last opportunity to buy them. Well, actually all the schools in the area are getting ready to go back so everyone is getting stuff for school. I've been working like a crazy person!! And we just hired 2 new people and one of them I went to school with so I sorta already knew him...and we started hanging out and talking all the time. We even went on a lunch date (his words, not mine) well I decided that I would just ask him what we were because our whole relationship was quite fuzzy. He told me that I was a really nice girl but we were just friends!! Dude, guys are confusing!! But what I don't understand even more is that just 3 days after we quit hanging out and talking so much he started dating this girl! But what's crazy is that, he saw when his best friend dated her that she had to control every aspect of his life. I don't understand why you would want to have someone like that in your life!! Oh well!! As I've been going through this whole ordeal, I've prayed that I will be able to over come my insecurities, fears, blah blah blah!! Usually when I get rejected I usually get really down and junk but this time I've been incredibly happy, despite everything!! And for that I'm proud of myself!!

On lighter news, there is just 5 months before I move to Idaho!! I'm pretty excited!! Some of my friends from where I used to live are going to be up there!! I can't wait!!

I can't wait for all this school stuff to be done at work...hopefully then I'll have time to blog more!!
